The Ella P. Stewart Collection is composed of newspaper clippings, correspondence, scrapbooks, printed materials and photographs covering the 1920's to the mid-1980's. The materials focus on her life as one of the earliest African-American women pharmacists in the United States and as an advocate for civil and women's rights. The bulk of the collection is taken from Ms. Stewart's scrapbooks. However, it also includes minutes, handbooks, the NACW Constitution and Bylaws, PPWA conference proceedings, information associated with the Ella P. Stewart School, and a scrapbook about her given to her on a birthday. Collection includes a two-hour taped interview with Ms. Stewart.
